Meet Megan
Registered Psychotherapist
Healing begins with feeling safe enough to be fully yourself.
Megan Bowes (she/her), Registered Psychotherapist
Clinical Director
Choosing a therapist is an important decision. My hope is that this page helps you get a sense of who I am—not just what I've studied.
I believe meaningful therapy begins with a genuine human connection. Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, or a difficult season of life, my goal is to provide a space where you feel heard, respected, and understood.
You don't need to arrive with all the answers—or even with hope. Sometimes hope is something we build together.
My approach
I view therapy as a collaborative process grounded in curiosity, compassion, and evidence-based care.
Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" I'm more interested in understanding, "What happened to you?"
Our experiences shape the ways we learn to protect ourselves. Many of the patterns that cause distress today once helped us survive.
Together we'll work to understand those patterns, strengthen your existing resilience, and develop new ways of responding that better support the life you want to live.
My work is informed by current research in trauma, attachment, neuroscience, and emotion regulation while remaining flexible enough to honour your unique experiences and goals.
What you can expect
When we work together, you can expect therapy to be:
Collaborative
Compassionate
Evidence-based
Trauma-informed
Respectful of your pace
Grounded in genuine human connection
I believe healing happens within safe relationships, and I strive to create a therapeutic environment where you can explore difficult experiences without fear of judgment.
Areas of interest
Although I work with a wide range of concerns, I'm especially passionate about supporting individuals and couples experiencing:
Trauma and complex trauma
Anxiety and panic
Relationship and attachment difficulties
Narcissistic abuse and emotionally immature relationships
Grief and loss
Self-worth and identity
Chronic illness, disability, and life transitions
Emotional regulation and nervous system healing
Professional background
I'm a Registered Psychotherapist and hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent many years supporting individuals and families through complex life circumstances in the social services sector, experiences that continue to shape my understanding of resilience, systems, advocacy, and compassionate care.

Outside the therapy room
I believe learning never stops, and I genuinely enjoy continuing to deepen my understanding of psychology, trauma, relationships, and human resilience. When I'm not working, you'll often find me reading, spending time with family, or enjoying quiet moments—all things that help me stay grounded and present for the people I have the privilege of supporting.
Finding the right therapist matters.
If you're wondering whether we'd be a good fit, I'd be honoured to meet with you. A complimentary consultation is an opportunity to ask questions, share what's bringing you to therapy, and decide whether working together feels right for you.
